D.L.D.C. has offered full time performing arts courses for students wishing to pursue a career in the entertainment industry since 1999.

Since 2006 DLDC is now accredited to offer 4 different courses. These are Nationall Recogonized Courses and Austudy approved:

- Advanced Diploma of Performing Arts: Musical Theatre / Commercial Dance (2 yrs ) (30598QLD)

- Advanced Diploma of Performing Arts: Classical Dance (2 yrs) (30598QLD)

- Diploma of Performing Arts: Musical Theatre / Commercial Dance (1 yr) (30597QLD)

- Diploma of Performing Arts: Classical Dance (1 yr) (30597QLD)

DLDC's students who complete the above courses also receive upon application a Tertiary Ranking equivalent to an OP of 6 or higher (when combined with Senior English). This equips the individual with an excellent avenue for further study at university as have many of our students.

The courses also aim to provide students with the necessary skills and confidence to audition for and work within the entertainment industry.

Subjects covered throughout the Musical Theatre / Commercial Dance courses include jazz, classical, tap, contemporary dance, singing, drama, audition technique, acrobatics, pilates, nutrition and more.

Within the classical stream students are trained at a very advanced level of classical ballet. Units of study in this stream include advanced classical technique, classical repertoire, pas de deux, pilates, nutrition, character dance and more.

The courses are conducted over a 5 day full time week between 9.00 am and 3 pm with a very heavy emphasis on practical training in all aspects.

Acceptance to the courses is by audition only. These auditions are held annually in October / November. Many of our students over the years have become very successful in obtaining work both within Australia and internationally in many different facets of the industry such as musical theatre, casino shows, cruise ships, theme parks, television and film, Australian and international ballet companies. Staff in our Full Time Performing Arts faculty are fully qualified and accredited. Many are also highly respected industry professionals and actively employed entertainers and performers in their own right, bringing with them up to the moment experience and immense talent. (see our Staff page)
